Mini clips announced that he has partnered with Make-A-Wish UK to help fulfill 50 life-changing play-related wishes for children with critical illnesses and their families.
Following long-term support for the charity, including patronage from chairman and co-founder Rob Small, this new partnership solidifies Miniclip’s relationship with Make-A-Wish UK, building on their commitment to harnessing the positive power of gaming and its communities to help others.
At the heart of this partnership, Miniclip has pledged to help Make-A-Wish UK grant 50 life-changing wishes, through sponsorship, volunteering and getting its players involved in campaigns such as Wish 200 Week. Led by Miniclip Gives Champions, the custodians of the brand’s charitable initiatives and partnerships, fun and creative opportunities will be generated for Miniclippers to get involved in fundraising and awareness, as well as devoting their time to volunteering.
Miniclip is also calling on the gaming industry to come together and raise money for the annual Wish 200 Week. It takes place between 24th and 30th July 2023, Wish 200 Week invites gamers, industry leaders and content creators to host live streams, challenges and special sponsored events to help raise funds. All the money raised will go directly to granting the wishes of 200 children and young people.
Miniclip will be supporting the campaign once again this year, helping Make-A-Wish UK reach its goal by sponsoring a portion of 200 wishes and engaging its players through in-game advertising.
In response to a 400% increase in gaming-related wishes since 2017, Small helped create the Wish 200 Week campaign in 2021. Now entering its third year, Wish 200 Week hopes to grant more wishes than ever to children who find solace in games while undergoing treatment for critical conditions.
Since Wish 200 Week was established in 2021, the gaming community has raised nearly £700,000, granting over 300 wishes to seriously ill children and their families to help them create lasting memories.
